Year 10Students begin their senior schooling in Year 10 where they can access a broad range of pathway choices with a great bunch of motivated, expert teachers. Students may choose from engaging “hands-on”, to challenging academic Year 10 units, VCE units, workplace learning in the VET program or difficult to staff units via Distance Ed. Students who struggle in the large, structured environment have access to alternative campuses at Connect Ed and Satellite VCAL or part-time programs involving work experience. Year 10 teachers aim to incorporate real-life work with links to the community. Such as in: Sport Coaching, Volunteer Work, Dance, IT, Careers and Money Matters. Students also work on meta-cognitive, organisational & planning skills in order to achieve their potential at VCE. Specific support for students is offered via the Student Wellbeing Team, Koori unit, chaplain, mentors and year level co-ordinators. School Support Services provide a range of counselling support for Year 10 students experiencing issues that impact on their education. A restorative justice model is adhered to in Year 10 where the focus is on re-building relationships rather than punishment.
