Sport Program

Sport Program

Horsham College provides students with an extensive extra curricular sport program that is run by a full time Sports Coordinator.

Students have the opportunity to nominate to participate and compete in a range of different organised sports at a school and division level. If successful at these levels, students will have the opportunity to progress and compete at regional and then State level. Sports and events that students are offered participation in at Horsham College include:

  • AFL Football
  • Athletics
  • Basketball
  • Cricket
  • Cross Country
  • Golf
  • Hockey
  • Netball
  • Soccer
  • Swimming
  • Tennis
  • Volleyball

A full range of sports and events can be seen on the School Sports Victoria website at https://www.ssv.vic.edu.au .

Horsham College prides itself on sportsmanship, positive participation and fair play. All students enrolled at Horsham College have the opportunity to try out and be involved in our sporting program.

The sport program also offers leadership opportunities with Sports House Captains being elected each year. These captains assist with organising for sporting events and encouraging participation within their respective houses.  Each student is placed in one of the four houses: Briggs (Red), Hall (Green), Darlot (Blue) or McLachlan (Yellow). Whether students are elite athletes or want to try their hand to participate.

As Horsham College is a member of School Sport Victoria, any student can nominate to try out for selection in one of School Sport Victoria’s State Teams in their chosen sport. This is a wonderful opportunity for gifted and talented students to participate in higher levels of sporting competition against students from other Australian States and Territories.
